BOPARC Freedom Challenge 5 or 10K

This is the only race in the MAGP Series to offer a distance option of 5 or 10K, with both events staged at White Park on the Fourth of July weekend. First run in 1979, the BOPARC 10K is one of the oldest continuing races in the area.

Courses: All races are on paved roads. Traffic control will be provided by the Morgantown Police Department. Course maps are available from BOPARC and will be included in all race packets.

The challenging 10K course is a TAC-certified 6.2 mile route looping from White Park to Marilla Park and back through residential neighborhoods. Water stops, with split times, will be located at the 1, 3, and 5 mile markers.

The 5K Race, 5K Walk and 1 Mile Run are loops through White Park and the surrounding neighborhoods. Water stops with split times, for the 5K, will be located at the 1 and 2 mile markers.

Awards: 10K, 5K Runs: awards will be presented to the first three male and female finishers in the age categories and to the overall top three male and female finishers.

5K Walk: awards will be presented to the top two male and female finishers in the age categories indicated below, and to the overall top two male and female finishers.

1 Mile Run: Ribbons will be awarded to all participants. Awards will be presented to the top male and female finishers and to the youngest finisher.

Results: Results will be posted at the finish. A complete listing of times and places will be mailed on request.

Fees: Race Fee is $10.00 for pre-registration postmarked by June 26, 1998. Fee for registration postmarked after this date and on race day will be $13.00. Fees are non-refundable. Please make checks payable to BOPARC.

T-Shirts: Original design T-shirts are guaranteed to all pre-registrants. T-shirts are available on race day while supplies last.
