| Place: | Start/Finish area is located in the parking lots between Ruby Memorial Hospital and Mountaineer Field, in Morgantown, WV. |
| Course: | The 5K course is a rolling, two loop course, with one water stop, and mile split times. It is certified to be accurately measured. USATF Number: WV95038RT. |
| Packet Pickup: | 7:30am to 8:45am at Start/Finish |
| Timing: | Professional timing provided by SERJ. |
| Price: | $13 if postmarked by 9/4/98. $15 if postmarked after 9/4/98, and on race day. You can register at the Pasta Dinner. |
| Employee Discount: | All employees of WVUH, UHA, or HSC along with their immediate family members, can enter for $10, if they sign up by 9/4/98. Cost is $15 after 9/4/98. |
| Radom Prizes: | Plenty of goodies, must be present to win. |
| Kid Stuff: | There will be arts and crafts activities throughout the morning, as well as the always popular Kid's Races. For ages 1 and up. Please Note: Children under 10 are not allowed to enter the 5K run. They may enter the 5K walk if they are accompanied by an adult. Your child's safety is important to us. |
| Pictures: | A photographer will be present to take free photographs of participants. These will be available the following week. The race will also be videotaped, and this will be shown in the hospital the following week. |
5K RUN PRIZES
Top three men and women will recive cash prizes:
AGE GROUP PRIZES
Top three finishers will win prizes.
Five Year Age Groups: 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55+.
Heavyweights: Top three males over 190 pounds.
Top prizes by Chuck Mattala Designs.
There will be no duplication of these awards.
5K FUN WALK PRIZES
Top three male and female finishers will win prizes.
This is not an officially judged racewalk.
No running is allowed.
EMPLOYEE PRIZES
Top three male and female employees.
Any employee who finishes the Fun Walk before the hospital
president finishes.
Other employee prizes will be announced later. Employees
will be eligible for employee prizes regardless of any other
prizes won.
PASTA DINNER/SEMINAR
Friday evening, September 11, 1998. Sponsored by Marriot.
Times: Pasta Dinner: 6pm to 8pm, Running Seminar: 7pm.
For the second year the September Stride is offering a dinner Friday night, complete with pasta, bread, salad, dessert, and beverages. This is included in the entry fee!
Location: The dinner/seminar will take place in the Health
Sciences Cafeteria. Park in the lot in front of the Mary Babb
Randolph Cancer Center, go in the Cancer Center entrance, and
follow the signs.
Guests: Please feel free to bring friends and family
to the dinner. The fee for guests is $5, a bargain for a nice meal.
Seminar: We will be having several short talks on running topics.
Door Prizes: Everyone who attends the dinner will be eligible
to win a door prize.

BENEFITS
The 1998 September Stride 5K is again being held in memory of Richard "Rick" Rosenbaum. Rick was a local businessman and good friend, who passed away in 1994 from Cystic Fibrosis. His family has established a fund in his name, which helps children who have pulmonary problems receive needed medication and equipment. Proceeds from the race will be donated to the Richard Rosenbaum Memorial Fund. We would be happy to accept additional donations to the Fund!
